Trimming The Town Treat Boxes - Free Instructions
Now is a great time to make something adorable and make a difference! The Coming Home stamp set is part of the popular Trimming The Town suite and is the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue Making a Difference stamp set.
When you purchase the Coming Home stamp set $4 will be donated to charities supporting adoption, foster care, and infertility.
I like how the Home Together Dies coordinate with both the stamps and the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper. It makes it simple and fast to create layered scenes on card and décor projects.
Read on to learn how to create the sweet out-of-the-box treat boxes in the tutorial I have included for you.
Be happy, create and stamp a little ....
TRIMMING THE TOWN TREAT BOXES
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) For each house-shaped treat box, die cut two matching cardstock pieces with the Home Together die with the star or heart accent. Samples shown are in Poppy Parade, Old Olive, and Whisper White, but you can use any colours you prefer.
2) For each house-shaped treat box, cut a piece of cardstock in the matching colour to 1-1/4" x 2-1/2". Score at 1/8" along each long end and 3/4" in at each short end. See Template for details.
3) On the long sides, cut on the score lines in just to where they intersect with the long score line to create tabs. See Template for details.
4) If you want to stamp on the houses to add detail, you can do that now, before assembling the box.
51) Fold on score lines. The tall sides will be the sides of the box. The open, short side will be where the house die cut gets added.
6) Fold tabs in. Add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the outside of the three tabs on one edge and line up a die cut house and adhere in place. Hold for a few seconds so the glue can set. Repeat with the second side and second die cut house.
7) Use the house dies to cut scrap cardstock hears and stars in your preferred colours to decorate the house boxes. Colours shown are Bumblebee, Poppy Parade, and Whisper White. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Mini Glue Dots to adhere to die cut shapes to the houses.
8) Tie small bows in the Old Olive and Poppy Parade ribbon from the All the Trimmings Ribbon Combo Pack. Adhere to the house treat boxes with Mini Glue Dots.
9) Optional Step-up: Step-up the design by stamping wreath or tree images from the Coming Home stamp set, die cutting them, and adding them to the house boxes with Mini Glue Dots.
10) Fill the house treat boxes with small candy or gifts and share them with someone special in your neighbourhood, office, church, or school!
